Leonard Magro - Young Professional of the Year

The Rochester Regional Chamber of Commerce announced 22 award winners at the 3rd annual Sunrise Pinnacle Awards event. The Sunrise Pinnacle has grown into one of the most encompassing and prestigious award ceremonies in the Metro Detroit area. The event took place at the Royal Park Hotel on October 29, 2009 with an estimated attendance of 500 people.

Twenty-two deserving individuals that included local businesses, nonprofit organizations, and outstanding community citizens were presented with a prestigious award. Among these outstanding individuals, Magro International president, Leonard Magro, was awarded The Athena Group, Ltd.Young Professional of the Year Award.

This award is given to an individual under 40 years of age that shows an outstanding level of achievement, commitment and presence in the greater Rochester community.

Leonard Magro comes to Michigan from a small country in the Mediterranean Sea called Malta. Leonard is highly educated he has a BS in Computer & Electrical Engineering from the University of Malta, a Masters in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Rochester's own Oakland University and a MBA from Duke University.

He has worked all over the world including Germany and Japan. As a result of his experience he founded Magro International, a company that specializes in helping
businesses create and implement Winning Internet Marketing Strategies.

He is a graduate of the Chamber's Leadership program and helped found the popular Young Professionals of Rochester networking group, a partnership between the Chamber and Oakland University Alumni Relations.

Leonard married his beautiful wife Julie in 2001 and they have two children. He lives in Rochester Hills.
